Following a three hour coach journey to this mountain golf course from Kidderminster, due to various delays on the roads, we were met with a very warm welcome by both Club and County Officials. An hour late on the tee did not help our boys to prepare properly. Everything was set up perfectly for the match the Club could not have set up the first tee better and it was a delight to for us to be taking part and also for the spectators. The course is tricky we struggled but we were impressed with the way they stuck to the task and a determination not to give in. Our boys were not at the same level of handicap and not as familiar with the course. The weather was sunny and little wind and the course was in great condition. In spite of the problems we had there were some notable performances and some close matches we just ran out of steam at the conclusion of the games. Notable were David Burton who won his singles and halved his foursomes and Cameron and Nathan in halving their singles games. A very special feature of the day was the presence of a photographer who gave a large screen presentation during dinner and included all players from both sides with dozens of action pictures and videos of their play during the event. Concluding speeches by the Club President and captains thanked the host Club and County for a splendid day out and one I am sure our boys will remember for a long time.
